FT. LAUDERDALE, FL — June 5, 2019 – The Gold Coast Master Brokers Forum (MBF), a networking group comprised of South Florida’s top residential real estate professionals, recently welcomed Jenni Morejon, president and CEO of the Ft. Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority (DDA), for a special presentation and reception at 100 Las Olas.
More than 70 Master Brokers attended this reception which opened with a welcome from Gold Coast MBF chair Carolyn Block Ellert, followed by an introduction to 100 Las Olas from Peggy Fucci, broker and CEO of OneWorld Properties. Fucci then invited sales director Catherine Kohn to provide an update on the mixed-use tower project; the first to offer new condominiums in downtown Ft. Lauderdale for more than ten years. At 499 feet tall, 100 Las Olas will be the city’s tallest building upon completion, offering 46 levels and 121 units starting at $800,000. The project will also include a hotel, restaurant and bar, and retail space.
This was followed by a special presentation from Morejon, who explained the role of the DDA as the city’s economic development engine; the history and demographic shifts that have shaped Ft. Lauderdale’s urban core; unique efforts to improve “walkability” and mobility throughout downtown; reduced vacancy rates and increased rental rates in recent years; and innovative public building efforts at the city’s Federal Courthouse and new government campus to house both city and county government operations.
“The evolution of downtown Ft. Lauderdale over the past few years has been remarkable, and 100 Las Olas is a huge part of that achievement,” said Block Ellert. “The local real estate community is fortunate to have the vision and leadership of smart developers and economic development officials, and we thank 100 Las Olas and Jenni for making this event a success.”
